Cute as a Button

I know I’ve seen this DIY tutorial all over the internet but I wanted to try it myself as just a little “in between” project for fun. It is extremely easy and I even wore what I made out last night!

Supplies:
1. Craft Glue
2. Exacto Knife
3. Buttons (the kind with the attachment on the back work best)
4. Earring Posts
5. Earring Backings

Step One: Cut off the back of the button using the Exacto knife. The closer you can cut to the back of the button the better the post will lay. Be very careful not to cut yourself!

*Detail: The back should look like this when you complete the cut.

Step Two: Apply a small dab of craft glue to the back of the button

Step Three: Apply the earring backing and allow time to fully dry.

That’s it! You’re done! Such a simple project and you can get some really unique jewelry from cute buttons. I plan on doing a set of vintage ducks next!

This is such a good idea! I never thought of being able to recycle stuff like that. And we have tons of buttons lying around without a home in this world! So I love this idea. Super cute!
